This whole “selling things online” thing looked easy.
“The AI does it all for you.” “Two clicks, launch your website, and start selling.” Bollocks.
You should see the mess I’ve made with the business account, the tax office, social security, registering as self-employed, the trade name...
All because one day I realised there are situations on a golf course that nobody knows how to solve on the spot. Even if there aren’t that many of them. They cost you shots. Right?
Something as stupid as not knowing what kind of relief you’re entitled to in a specific situation. I’ve seen people who have passed the national golf referee exam hesitate over a ruling. Even rules officials get it wrong. Normal. So do I.
Look, there’s a Google Consumer Surveys poll of more than 6,800 golfers, cited in 2012 by Polara Golf and still floating around online, which found that:
72% of golfers say they have never read the Rules of Golf.
And those are the ones who admit it. That doesn’t include the dishonest ones, I’d say... Let’s be honest: normal golfers are mostly looking to have fun. I get that. You’re not checking the rulebook down to the last comma.
But one shot more or one shot less hurts. Right? And don’t even get me started if it happens in a tournament...
So I thought: Imagine having the Rules of Golf — playing rules, etiquette, strategy — in your pocket, and being able to take a photo of a situation so it tells you what applies. No typing. No talking.

Hahaha. Look, from people who actually know how to sell, I’ve learned that with LAZAR I’m not really selling software.
I’m selling the peace of mind of knowing I’ve got a personal rules official in my pocket.
Not having to ask someone else who doesn’t know either. Not having to wait. Not making others wait.
