ABOUT ME

Dani Salmerón

25 years in cybersecurity and a handicap of 28.

I'm Dani. A geek for technology, privacy, and everything they can do for the freedom of the ordinary person. One day that obsession collided with my other passion: golf. Lazar came out of it.

From securing systems to reading the rulebook

I've spent over 25 years in cybersecurity, specialized in Cloud and Artificial Intelligence. But beyond the title, I'm passionate about new technology — and about security and privacy as tools to empower the individual. That idea drives everything I do.

And when I close the laptop, I grab the irons.

I'm no great player —handicap 28, and I own it— but I love the game. As an amateur I got fed up with the same thing you do: odd situations on the course that forced me to stop play and ask partners who didn't know the answer either. And digging through the rulebook in a hurry with dirty hands is no fun.

So I did what any geek would do: I built the solution. First for myself. But something told me it would help a lot more people.

I'm no pro. But I take the rules seriously.

I am a federated player, and in 2025 I completed the Training Course on the Rules of Golf and Committee Procedures. I wanted to truly understand the rulebook, not just hear about it.

And I've lived elite golf from the inside, as a volunteer and spectator at some of the world's best tournaments:

Solheim Cup

Ryder Cup

Spanish Open

Watching referees rule under maximum pressure and grasping the real dynamics of the course is something no book can teach you.

Why I built Lazar

Lazar comes from a very specific frustration: the gap between knowing a rule and applying it on the course, under pressure, with no time and the group waiting.

I combined my experience in AI, cloud and security with what I learned from the rulebook to build an assistant that understands a photo of your situation and tells you exactly what you can do under the official R&A–USGA Rules.

It's not a generic chatbot. It's built by someone who makes a living protecting other people's data and who has studied the rulebook seriously. Your privacy and rigor aren't extras — they're the starting point.

Lazar was just the beginning

After Lazar came more ideas, all around the same thing: AI agents and their orchestration, in the service of people. I gather and stand behind them under IMAGENTICA, the name I work under as a freelancer.

Different projects, one conviction: that technology, done right, gives power back to whoever uses it. Lazar is the first proof of that on a golf course.
