You are reading a past issue. The author courageously launched ads for 'Lazar' to validate their idea, prioritizing personal learning and embracing mistakes over expert conformity. This experience underscores the profound value of direct action, leveraging AI for skill acquisition, and the joy of a journey built on self-discovery, like golf.

Lazar Ads Go Live: Embracing Mistakes, Learning & Golf

Written byDani Salmerón

This is the part that was hardest for me. And the one I should have done first:

Validate, with ads, whether anyone is interested in Lazar. The ads are now live. Maybe I didn’t do it earlier because I was afraid of a result that wouldn’t go my way.

All the “experts” say you shouldn’t do what you personally like, but what people like. That your job is to figure that out. They say it’s a mistake to try something new — to innovate. That “the market” already knows what people want, and that you should find something that sells well and copy it or improve it.

It took me a month to accept that, because I did exactly the opposite. Hahaha.

But I feel proud. Because if this approach turns out to be a mistake, it’s my mistake. I cooked it my way, and I’ll eat it myself. Everyone knows that mistakes are yours to make.

That supposed altruism from people who give you the “tricks they wish they had known” to “save you years of your life” isn’t credible. It’s just a convenient excuse to capture your attention — and your money.

No one else can live your life for you. And there are no shortcuts when it comes to making your own mistakes.

You have to do it yourself.

And honestly, sometimes it becomes a habit. Like golf. Hahaha.

So whether those ads work or not, no one can take away the most powerful part of this:

I learned how to run them.

And that’s one less thing I need to learn on this crazy path. Three ads. Three angles. And I didn’t have to pay for a course to learn it.

Gemini taught me. I’ll keep you posted (maybe I’ll tell Gemini too) on how those ads perform.

If they perform at all.

By the way, I don’t let AI write my emails, because then they wouldn’t have any value.

But it’s an incredibly powerful tool. To learn, to work, to do much more in much less time. The same time those marketing “gurus” claim they want to save me by avoiding their past mistakes…

Gemini saves it for me ten times over.

Time to play more golf. To make more mistakes. And to learn from them.

Have a great weekend, golfer!

D
