Introducing LAZAR: Your New AI Golf Course Assistant App

Written byDani Salmerón

Nomen habemus!

We finally have a name for the golf course assistant app. For this project, I’ve been getting a bit of help from AI.

Because honestly, I’ve never been a full-time developer —I’ve always been more on the Systems, Networks, and now Security side of things.
And you know what? It’s so much easier now.

Way easier.

So here’s what happened:

Since AI already knew about my project, I asked it what names it would suggest for my app. It threw out a bunch of them, and for every single one I explained why I didn’t like it.

And it always agreed with me. So I thought, well, that’s some pretty dumb intelligence… If you know they’re bad, why suggest them in the first place? 😂

Anyway — I came up with one myself: LAZAR.

Partly because it sounds like Lazarillo, a helper guiding you on the golf course. And partly because of the Lazarus thing — coming back to life to help you. And also, because I wanted something different from all those cliché app names: CaddieMaster, GolfWise, Rules of Golf… ugh.

You open the app, snap a photo, you don’t even have to type if you don’t want to…

And within 3 seconds, LAZAR gives you your recommendations. And it even sounds like “Laser” — sharp and precise.

Would you buy it? 😉

Well, here’s the good news: you don’t have to — at least not yet. For 2-3 weeks, it’ll be in Beta phase, closed to the general public. I’ll give you an access code if you tell me you’d like to test it.
Just email me and I’ll send you the code and the page link.

A few of you have already asked. It’s a web app, so there’s nothing to install. Once you’re in, this is what it looks like:

All I ask in return is that you use it on the course and tell me where it fails, what could be improved, what you liked, etc.

Deal?

Have a great weekend, golfer! The weather’s supposed to be nicer — get out there and hit it hard!
