I just found out about this — the Tomorrow Golf League.
The TGL.
The Americans have set up an indoor golf league with top-tier players — we’re talking Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy… that level.
Let me explain quickly in case you’ve heard about it:
An indoor sports arena, packed with fans.
A giant screen as a golf simulator — like those bars where you can play virtually at any course in the world.
But this one’s massive.
Players hit into the simulator screen, and when the ball reaches the green or fringe, they switch to real life — playing on an artificial green built right into the arena floor.
A round blue light marks the exact spot where they must place their ball, depending on the shot they just hit on the screen.
The artificial green moves — it can rotate, change slope, even alter pin positions.
It has multiple turf heights. And they bring in real white sand, Augusta-style, for the bunkers.
There are already two major media outlets covering it, and a title sponsor that gives its name to the venue — the SoFi Center.
This is all happening in Palm Beach, Florida.
So… what do you think?
I mean, it sounds fun. Even interesting.
But calling that golf? It’s like calling table tennis… tennis.
Golf is the real thing.
It’s social. It’s walking, talking, sharing time with friends and family. It’s feeling the sun, the wind, the rain.
Hearing the birds.
And dropping one in the lake. Hahaha.
Some things can’t be simulated. Soon we’ll be simulating sex too.
But it won’t be that. It’ll be something else. Profitable, maybe.
But not the same.
Just like this new year won’t be the same as the last.
Big things are coming — and I’ll be the first to tell you about them.
Happy New Year, golfers!
P.S. Here’s a review with the best golf gifts if you’re still in the holiday spirit.
